Independent Reading #6

Hey,

I am reading The Kite Runner book, and on section six it says. Winter is best season for children in Afghanistan. They play with snow and draw on it. By this time all children prepare them self to play with their kite, fly them and fight who is the best one. Also the kite fighting is an old winter traditional in Afghanistan.

1 - What is the favorite season for you when you were a child ?

2- What is some old traditional habits do you have in your country ?

Because Ali was going into a fight with a big boy and the boy come with 2 more boys so they were 3 against Ali, but Hassan defended him and that what surprised me he stood up for his friend against 3 boys. so both of them were safe cause of what the brave boy did.

My Reading Reaction

First of all I read nearly 6 pages of the book and my thoughts about it is a good book and deep long story. Also its a little bit confusing if you lost your concentration but I think I will enjoy it. Because its a true story in Pakistan.

Trip to elementary school

Hi, I want to talk about a trip I had to an elementary school before I went there I was expecting that children won't be happy or excited and after I gone there I was surprised that they were so excited and happy to meet me and they were friendly, so it was different than what I expected.

- Comparing this elementary school to the school I studied in back home mostly both of them are similar in a lot of things such as in building, education system, classes etc.. so there was no differences between them.

- My recommendations to IECP student who is going there in the future is to bring a good story to read for them also bring a lot of cookies because they love it.

Reading 3A
Summary #1

In the NPR article "Multitasking In The Car: Just Like Drunken Driving". driving and using cell – phones as calling and texting is dangerous according to what David Meyer says "If you are driving while cell-phoning, then your performance is going to be as poor as if you were legally drunk".Even though if it was a hands free device it still dangerous cause it distracts our focusing on the road. Moreover, novice drivers need all the brain participation they can get for the driving. Overtime levels of focusing changes with experience from that driving becomes automatic. Scientists call this phenomenon "automaticity" it let us do one thing while focusing on something else and its helps us to multitask. In addition, scientists make a study on a professional pianist as a result its shows that asking the pianist while he is playing it makes him lose focusing. Finally according to what David Meyer says and that driving need a big amount of brain power, also from the pianist experiment and the study by The National Highway. The author conclusion is driving while cell-phoning it dangerous and make you lose concentration in driving.

Hi, everyone !

My name is Sultan and I'm from Saudi Arabia. And I would like to tell you about my experience I had in last two summers in the United Kingdom. I went to UK for an English summer school it called EF school which is education first. I went to Bristol city it a beautiful city with a lot of nature. In this school I met a lot of people from all over the world, I made a lot of friends every week and while I am studying English there is a lot of free time so I had time to go to many places in UK. In the weekends I usually go to London with my friends. We hang out and wander the city also we look for new places to visit. I didn't had the chance to visit stone age, but I visited other cities and explore a lot of UK. On the other hand I had a lot of fun and I have beautiful memories. Moreover, now I have at lest one friend in every country. Finally, this experience I had I won't ever forget cause it remind me of the amazing time I had with my friends that I hope I will see them again one day.
